Helping out at 4-H was an awesome experience. This has allowed me a service opportunity to help and lead the community. Also, I got to learn how to better help and teach kids. This was a combination of service and leadership in the community.
After doing 4H mentoring I got to learn more about leadership in service and mentoring. I noticed that as I went I felt better and I enjoyed it. When ever I got the chance I invited others to come and join. This indicated to me that what I was doing was important to me and worth sharing to others. I got to work with different kinds of kids. Some more quiet, and some more loud with lots of energy. This helped me to be more adaptable and learn how to talk to and help each individual.
In the last edge we talked about 4 different leadership styles. I feel like my project incorporated more of , “The Modern Missionary”. The 4H program is about building up others and their skills. Though my leadership skills are still developing; I do feel like 4H helped me to develop some teaching skills and socializing with the younger kids.
